"Flare Path" by Terence Rattigan
“FLARE PATH” - First produced in August 1942, although it was not his first play, it was the first play for which Terence Rattigan had any real recognition. This is possibly because it was staged just one year after the Battle of Britain, which is its background theme.
It is set in a country hotel near an airfield (imagine Hunsdon), and the background noise is of BBC announcements, dance music, bombers, and odd explosions throughout Acts I and II.
